HM Govt have made new regulations to the exemptions in the Financial Promotions Order (2005) - Which enable unauthorised Firms to issue financial promotions to high net worth individuals and sophisticated investors. These new rules come into force 31 January 2024.
High Net Worth individuals need an income of at least £170,000 (up from £100,000) in the previous financial year, or have net assets of at least £430,000 (up from £250,000)
Sophisticated Investors may continue to be self-certified provided that they are able to meet the new eligibility criteria
The format of the High Net Worth and Self-certified Sophisticated Investor statements has also been updated.HNW, Self-Certified sophisticated investor
